“Use of Social Robots in Business”
COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Sahiwal Campus organized a webinar on “Use of Social Robots in Business” on 8 October 2025 , in collaboration with the School of Business, Western Sydney University, Australia. The event was further supported by CUI Abbottabad and CUI Attock Campuses, bringing together faculty members and students from multiple campuses to explore this emerging and highly relevant area of study.
The distinguished presenters Dr. Aila Khan, Senior Lecturer, Dr. Michael Lwin Senior Lecturer, Dr. Omer Mubeen, Senior Lecturer and Mr. James R. Sadler, PhD Student were invited from the University of Western Sydney, Australia. The insightful session explored the evolving role of social robots in modern business environments, their applications, and their potential impact on customer engagement and operational efficiency.
During the session, Dr. Omer Mubeen shared his professional experiences and practical insights on integrating social robots into business operations, highlighting key trends and challenges in the field. Meanwhile, Mr. James presented his PhD research, offering valuable academic perspectives and future directions for the use of robotics in business and management contexts.
The webinar was attended by a large number of students and faculty members from the participating campuses. The session was moderated and organized by CUI Sahiwal Campus, ensuring an engaging and interactive learning experience.
Following an interactive question-and-answer session, Dr. Asrar ul Haq, Dr. Muhammad Waqas from CUI Sahiwal Campus, and Mr. M. Abbas Baloch, Senior Program Officer, International Officer of CUI Islamabad expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed speakers for conducting such a valuable and timely session on a topic of growing relevance in today’s digital era.
