The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship 2026 is a prestigious and fully funded program for students worldwide who wish to pursue a master’s by Research or PhD in Ireland. Managed by Research Ireland and funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, this scholarship supports talented researchers across all academic disciplines.

Grants: The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship 2026 provides up to €34,000 per year, including:
Annual stipend of €25,000
Tuition fee contribution (including non-EU fees) up to €5,750
Research expenses allowance of €3,250
Eligibility Criteria: Open to applicants of all nationalities.
· Hold a first-class or upper second-class honours bachelor’s degree or equivalent (or a master’s degree if not).
· Be affiliated with an Eligible Research Body in Ireland.
· Be a new entrant to the postgraduate degree or have completed no more than one year.
· Work under the guidance of a primary supervisor at an eligible Irish institution.
· Submit the application in English or Irish.
Application Procedure
· Complete the eligibility quiz on the Research Ireland portal.
· Submit the application online before the deadline.
· Ensure supervisor and research office endorsements are submitted on time.
· Applications must be original, complete, and within the word limits.

· Supervisor Deadline: 6 November 2025
· Research Office Endorsement: 13 November 2025
· Results Announcement: April 2026
· Scholarship Start Date: 1 September 2026
