A Chinese delegation lead by Prof Qiao Gang, from Underwater Acoustic College of Harbin Engineering University visited COMSATS University Islamabad on Thursday, January 16, 2019 at 10.00 am.  The delegation comprised of the following members:

Prof Qiao Gang :         Vice Dean at College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering, HEU

Prof Liu Sonzuo:         Professor at College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering, HEU

Prof Ding Xuezhong:  Vice Dean of International College, HEU

Guo Feng:                   Vice Director of Alumni, HEU

Dr. Niaz Ahmed:       Associate Professor at College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering

Dr. Lou Yi:                   Lecturer at College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering, HEU

Upon arrival, the delegates were shown around the CUI campus and its facilities including the Junaid Zaidi Library, E &CE Labs and the Student Services Center. The delegates were all praises for the lush green campus of CUI. They were then escorted to the Meeting Room where they were formally welcomed by Dean, Faculty of Engineering and IO team. Through a brief power-point presentation, COMSATS University, Islamabad was introduced as a young, reputed, fast growing, research focused and international oriented institution. A short presentation highlighting College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering was also presented by one of the delegates.   Later, an interactive talk session ensued for discussing collaborative opportunities between CUI and HEU.

While wrapping up the session, Dean, Faculty of Engineering profusely thanked the delegates and shared that COMSATS University, Islamabad is keen to foster close academic ties with Harbin Engineering University.

The day’s activity ended with a group photograph and presentation of small souvenirs after which the delegates departed on a positive note of their availability whenever invited again to the campus.
