About Us
Introduction
The department of Civil Engineering at CUI Sahiwal campus was established in April 2015, with the approval of the CUI Executive Committee (CEC) in its 85th meeting held on 2nd February, 2015subject to completion of all formalities including clearance from the Pakistan Engineering Council.
Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in its 82nd EA&QEC/EAB Meeting held on 4th and 5th May, 2017 at PEC HQ Islamabad granted the "Green signal" to start the B.Sc. Civilengineering program from Fall-2017.
Vision
To be recognized globally as one of the leading departments in CIvil Engineering education.
Mission
To prepare competent Civil engineering graduates aware of professional, ethical and social responsibilities for dynamic engineering careers in industry, academia and research both locally and abroad.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) play an instrumental role in the OBE system as PEOs describe what the graduates of the BS Civil Engineering Program are expected to achieve within a few years after graduation. Following are the three educational objectives set for the Civil Engineering program:
PEO 1: Demonstrate competence in the professional practice of Civil Engineering.
PEO 2: Fulfill the needs of society on identifying and solving technical challenges in the field of Civil Engineering using fundamental engineering principles with modern tools and practices in an ethical and socially responsible manner.
PEO 3: Demonstrate competence while applying civil engineering practices by exhibiting organizational skills through professional growth and development activities.
Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
PLO 1: Engineering Knowledge: An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PLO 2: Problem Analysis: An ability to identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
PLO 3: Design/Development of Solutions: An ability to design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
