Electronics Projects Exhibition

An Electronics Projects Exhibition was organized in the department of EE on May 26, 2009 under the supervision of Mr. Rana Liaqat Ali, Assistant Professor, who was recently declared as the “Best Employee of The Year 2008” by the EE Dept. of COMSATS.

Professor Dr. Shahid A Khan (Dean faculty of Engineering) and Dr. Shahzad A Malik (Head of the Electrical Engineering) visited each project of the exhibition with keen interest and encourage the students upon successful completion of their projects. They also focused on the continuation of such kind of application oriented implementations that would lead to the professional products with the diminutive efforts of the mentor.

The total number of participants was 109 with 25 projects from BET and BCE, forth semester. These projects were divided into following five categories:

  • TTL Based Optical Fiber Communication System.
  • Full Range Audio Amplifier.
  • Street Light Solution with auto light control.
  • DC Motor Controller for the customized requirements.
  • Water Level Controller, with indigenous “Level Sensors” based solution.

The exhibition was opened at 10:30 AM for all the visitors. Students and faculty members visited the venue and showed keen interest in the projects.
Each group was required to accomplish their task using techniques and methods unique from other competitors. The design problems and other issues during these projects helped students to learn. A design of Fiber optic based transceiver was a good achievement. It was made on a cost four times less than the market product.
