Distinction for Department of Physics, CUI Islamabad at 7th International Conference on Material Science and Nanotechnology 2025

Students from the Department of Physics, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), showcased remarkable academic and research excellence at the 7th International Conference on Material Science and Nanotechnology 2025, held at Government College University, Faisalabad.

Dr. Yasir Abbas from the Applied Thermal Physics Laboratory, Department of Physics, CUI Islamabad, secured 1st Position in the prestigious 3-Minute Thesis Competition for his groundbreaking research on rare-earth doped cobaltite perovskites for energy applications.

Adding to the department’s achievements, Mr. Haider Ali bagged 1st Position in the Poster Presentation competition for his innovative research on CNT-Transition Metal Oxide for supercapacitor applications.

Other research contributions from Ruqia Masroor, Haroon Mazhar, Esha Faisal, and Ambreen Zahra also earned appreciation for their valuable insights into advanced materials and nanotechnology.

These accolades reflect the Department of Physics, CUI Islamabad's unwavering commitment to research excellence and its leading role in shaping future innovations in material science.

A special session on "Magnetic Materials: Recent Advances and Future Prospects" was held during the 7th International Conference on Material Science and Nanotechnology 2025. Professor Dr. Anis-ur-Rehman, Head of the Department of Physics, COMSATS University Islamabad, was invited as a distinguished keynote speaker. He delivered an insightful talk on the latest developments in magnetic materials for energy storage and electronic devices and presented his group’s research work and results in the field. The session featured contributions from renowned researchers and students, providing an excellent platform for knowledge sharing. The active participation of CUI Islamabad highlighted its leading role in magnetic materials research.
