UNESCO Chair on Knowledge Systems for Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) CUI Wah Campus nominated Dean Faculty of Engineering, CUI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, to participate in the Meeting of Pakistan National Committee on Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (PNC-IHP) of UNESCO & Stakeholder Consultation on IWRM Implementation Guidelines was held on November 19, 2020 at PCRWR Headquarters, Islamabad Pakistan.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman, PCRWR, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, 35 participants from the member and stakeholder organizations participated in the meeting and consultation sessions. Chairman, PCRWR in his opening remarks welcomed all the participants and shared the progress on PNC-IHP during the year. Director UNESCO, Ms. Patricia McPhilip, appreciated the progress of PCRWR and extended UNESCO’s cooperation. Dr. Abid invited Chairman PCRWR and his team to visit CUI to discuss the course of action of IWRM and Centre for Climate Research and Development (CCRD), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI).
In the consultation session PCRWR members presented draft of IWRM Implementation Guidelines for Pakistan. The participant actively participated in the discussion session giving their input and feedback on IWRM Guidelines. The meeting was concluded by vote of thanks from Chairman, PCRWR and Chairman, Federal Flood Commission.
