Centre for Climate Research and Development (CCRD), COMSATS University Islamabad actively participated in the 9th International Water Conference on “Emerging Technologies for Water Security and Socio-Economic Development” held on 6-7 May 2025 at COMSTECH, Islamabad which was hosted by The University of Haripur in collaboration with Riphah University Islamabad, COMSATS university Islamabad, Water Aid, Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), Islamabad and others. CCRD, Department of Meteorology, CUI, chaired one session of the conference. Dr. Toqeer Ahmed from CCRD, Department of Meteorology represented CUI and participated as one of the panelists in the panel discussion on “AI applications for water security: Towards a resilient future”.  The conference featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and technical sessions, highlighting the critical role of emerging technologies in advancing water security, sustainable development, climate resilience, and socio-economic progress. Participants shared valuable insights on bridging research, innovation, and policy to address water-related challenges at regional and global scales.
