Students of AI or IT engineering from a developing country looking to gain real-world experience in Japan’s booming tech sector? The Japan Internship Program 2025, backed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan, is now accepting applications for a fully funded internship in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology (IT).This is a rare opportunity for global tech talent to work with Japanese companies, contribute to innovative projects, and engage in cross-cultural collaboration—all while living in one of the world’s most advanced economies.
Grants: Living Allowance: ¥3,000/day (approx. USD 20)
1. Round-trip airfare to and from Japan
2. Accommodation for the full internship period
3. Cross-cultural communication training
4. Internship insurance
5. Certification upon completion (conditions apply)
Eligibility Criteria: Be a citizen of a country listed on the OECD/DAC list (excluding China)
2. Reside outside Japan at the time of application
3. Be a university graduate or a student expected to graduate soon
4. Have graduated within the last 3 years (if not currently enrolled)
5. Have no Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N5 or higher
6. Be able to communicate in English
7. Be fully committed to the internship schedule and training program
8. Not be currently employed or in Japan for work or study
