Being the Chairperson of this department, I can proudly state that Biotechnology serves as one such discipline that solely aims to reveal fundamental mechanistic insights and develop new paradigms that improve life sustainability. The aim is to foster an inclusive, collaborative environment which focuses on integration of theories with applicability.

The department offers BS, MS, and PhD in Biotechnology and BS-Microbiology. We have specialized faculty who empowers students with skills, knowledge, and critical thinking abilities needed to excel professional life. The dedicated mentorship of faculty motivates students to inquire and find solutions to the real-world problems. For that, different research groups have been set up that target the prime problems related to plants, health, industry, and environment etc. Alongside, to meet up with the changing global research trends towards data science, we are heading forward in bringing computational and synthetic biology as our prime focus. Furthermore, The department takes the pride in announcing the opening of new programs like microbiology and medical laboratory technology under the umbrella of Biotechnology.
