Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme

Description:

To encourage top international postgraduate research students to pursue doctoral studies in Hong Kong, a Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) was established by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council in 2009. The Fellowship provides a monthly stipend of HK$28,100 and a travel allowance for conferences and research of HK$14,000 per year for the awardees for a maximum of three years. 400 PhD Fellowships will be awarded in the 2025/26 academic year.

Grants: The Fellowship provides an annual stipend of HK$340,800 (approximately US$43,690) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$14,200 (approximately US$1,820) per year for each awardee for a period up to three years. 400 PhD Fellowships will be awarded in the 2026/27 academic year*. For awardees who need more than three years to complete the PhD degree, additional support may be provided by the chosen universities. Eligibility criteria: Candidates who are seeking admission as new full time PhD students in the following eight universities, irrespective of their country of origin, prior work experience and ethnic background, should be eligible to apply.

  • The Chinese University of Hong Kong
  • The Education University of Hong Kong
  • The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
  • The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

Applicants should demonstrate outstanding qualities of academic performance, research ability / potential, communication and interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities.

Selection Panel:

Shortlisted applications, subject to their areas of studies, will be reviewed by one of the following two Selection Panels comprising experts in the relevant board areas:

  • Sciences, Medicine, Engineering and Technology
  • Humanities, Social Sciences and Business Studies

Selection Criteria: While candidates' academic excellence is of primary importance, the Selection Panels will take into account factors as follows:

  • Academic excellence.
  • Research ability and potential.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills; and Leadership

Woods Hole Summer Student Fellowship 2025 in the USA

Description:

Wood Hole Summer Student Fellowship 2025 in the USA is an excellent opportunity for students to work on a project that will provide meaningful results in future endeavors. The Science Department of WHOI and the Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center of the U.S. This fully-funded fellowship will provide the participants with an opportunity to join seminars and an ocean sampling cruise onboarding, focused on data collection and sampling techniques associated with the advanced oceanographic instruments and technology.

Course Level:                                 Summer Student Fellowship

Grants: Weekly stipend of $ 680.

  • Additional support is available to help cover the cost of round-trip travel to Woods Hole, with a travel allowance of $700
  • Housing accommodation.
  • Exposure to the fundamentals of ocean sciences and engineering
  • Familiarity with the advanced techniques of oceanography.

Eligibility criteria:   Undergraduate students who completed their junior year at universities or colleges are eligible.

  • You should not have completed your graduation.
  • Students in science or engineering fields, such as biology, chemistry, geology, geophysics, mathematics, meteorology, physics, oceanography, engineering, and marine policy, are given preference, though other related fields may also be considered.
  • Students, associated with the groups that are underrepresented in ocean sciences are encouraged to apply.
  • Students must be interested in ocean sciences, marine policy, or oceanographic engineering.

KWI International Fellowships 2025 in Germany

Description:

The KWI International Fellowships 2025 in Germany offers a prestigious opportunity for scholars worldwide. Located at the Kulturwissenschaftliches Institut (KWI) in Essen, this fellowship supports research in humanities, cultural studies, and social sciences.
