About Us

The Department of Mathematics, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Attock Campus, established in 2011, is a dynamic center for mathematical studies at undergraduate and graduate level. Initially the Department started 2 years MSc Mathematics program in Fall 2011 and later on MS Mathematics program was inaugurated in Fall 2012. Today we continue to be a center for high-quality education and research at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The department has 21 faculty members out of which 17 are PhDs with research interests in algebra, analysis, applied mathematics, convexity, graph theory, mathematical biology, numerical analysis, probability and fluid dynamics. The department has about 150 full-time students in MSc Mathematics program and 65 in MS Mathematics program.

We aim to provide valuable, useful and practical knowledge in field of Mathematics to enable students to employ critical analysis and insightful problem-solving. We extend the frontiers of knowledge in pure and applied mathematics in ways that prepare students for leading roles in Engineering, Science, Business, Industry and other careers. Our goal is to develop and disseminate mathematical knowledge and skills and to promote research in mathematics, individually and in collaborative groups.
