Department of Civil Engineering arranged an educational field trip of BS (Civil) Engineering, 6th Semester to Sangjani Water Treatment Plant on May 25, 2023, to mobilize their experiential learning. The Sangjani Treatment Plant takes water from Khanpur Dam and treats almost 25 million gallons of water per day and supplies it to the citizens of twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Mr. Ameer Mehmood Khan, Assistant Director from the CDA warmly welcomed the students and briefed them on the process of intake structure, components of water treatment like sedimentation, coagulation, filtration, disinfection and the storage of treated water. The students were also explained the procedure of testing and maintaining the quality of water with its frequency from the source.

The visit ended with a vote of thanks and exchanged souvenirs.
