The Department of Civil Engineering organized a CPD seminar on “Shear Strength of High Performance Concrete”, on May 18, 2022. The Director Campus along with HoD Civil Engineering, CUI Wah Campus welcomed the guest speaker, Engr. Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah, Vice Chancellor Karakorum International University (KIU), Gilgit, an expert in the area of academic leadership, financial management and resource mobilization. Dr. Shah is the author of more than 100 publications and author of six books in the areas of Engineering Eco, High Strength Concrete, Disaster Management, and Construction Project Management. The Director Campus, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, T.I., in his welcome note shared his vision of future avenues of mutual collaboration in providing quality education and research in the field of engineering.

The guest speaker presented the requirements related to concrete special combinations of performance and uniformity that cannot be achieved routinely by using only conventional materials constituents and normal mixing, placing, and curing practices. The compressive strength which produced on a daily basis in the developments of HSC-RC beam types/designs was deliberated in detail. At the end the CUI Wah Campus souvenir was presented to the guest speaker. The seminar ended with a vote of thanks.
