The delegate comprising of Mr Zhang Heqing Cultural Counselor and Director China Cultural Center in Pakistan, Professor Xu Xiaodong, Department of Arts, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Mr. Lan Jian Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Mr. You BaoMing, Director Programs at China Culture Center in Pakistan visited  COMSATS University Islamabad campus on 23rd October

 

The delegate had  called on  Rector CUI Prof. Dr Raheel Qamar in the presence of Chairperson as well as Dean Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture and the staff of China Study Center. Projects of mutual interest were discussed with the special focus on conducting the joint research in the field of Art and Design. Discussions were also made to conduct joint activities including lectures, seminars, conferences and other cultural activities between CUI and China Culture Center in Pakistan.

 

Professor Xu Xiaodong, especially came from China to deliver a lecture on "Artistic Interaction between China and the Central Asia Jades from 15th to 18th Century”. The lecture was based on early jade was used as an ornament or sacrificial utensils. 


Mr. Wajid Kamaran, Additional Registrar and Student of CUI Student China Society played flute and Rubab, which was  highly enjoyable and appreciated by the audience and by the Chinese delegate. The visit proved to be very useful and ended with presentation of souvenirs to guests.

A Lecture on Drug Menace & Mobile Phone Addiction was arranged on April 28, 2019 with the collaboration of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Directorate of Pakistan Ordinance Factories (POFs), Wah Cantt. Guest speaker, Prof. Attique Raza delivered lecture and highlighted important aspects and tips for students to avoid drug and mobile phone addiction. Ms. Maria Zeb, an alumnus of CUI and consultant of HSE Directorate motivated students to avoid drug and mobile phone addiction and play their role in development of country.

Director IT, POFs Wah Cantt, Brig Farooq Azam was guest of honor and he emphasized that youth must be vigilant and keep them-self away from drug addiction as these can harm their life as bright future of Pakistan lies in the hand of youth. Large number of students and faculty members participated in the lecture.

Dr. Hina Khan, Lecturer in Marketing for International Operations visited the Department of Management Sciences, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore from September 14, 2015 to September 17, 2015. During her visit she met with the students of Dual Degree Program and discussed on their issues related to grading, degree, future studies at Lancaster University. She also delivered lectures to the students on branding yourself, international marketing strategies, advertisement etc. She also conducted workshops and held meetings with the faculty where she discussed the role of moderators, external examiners, setting the question papers, designing the course handbooks. She met with the faculty of marketing and split-side PhD students to discuss their progress and future course of action.

Profile

Dr. Hina Khan is a lecturer in Marketing for International Operations at Lancaster University. She has been an academic for the last ten years. She has published in international journals. She regularly presents papers and chairs sessions at international conferences. She is competent in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. She is also on the editorial board of the Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development and reviews papers for international journals and conferences. Her research interests lie in investigating international consumers’ buying behavior, rebranding, emerging markets, conspicuous and inconspicuous consumption and how the products’ country of origin influences consumers’ buying behavior and decision-making process.She is also interested in investigating Small and Medium Enterprise development, the challenges and impact of globalizations on SMEs.

She received an Award of Excellence – Outstanding Reviewer’s Award 2013 - from Emerald Publishing Company for the significant contribution to the Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development. Two of her journal articles have been selected for the Emerald Global Reading ListAssit – the list is available to the entiresubscriber’s worldwide.She was one of the three finalists for Lloyds TSB Jewel Award in 2007.

In addition, she has maintained links with the industry. She has undertaken leading roles in both industry and academia. She is also experienced in leading teams and consultancy projects to a successful outcome. She teaches as well as supervises Undergraduate, Master’s and Doctoral students.
