The closing ceremony of 18th International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology-FIT 2021 organized by COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) was held on December 14, 2021 at COMSTECH Secretariat, Islamabad.
Federal Secretary, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoIT), Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput graced the event as Chief Guest. While addressing the gathering he informed that the Government is working to promote innovations, information technology and education sector in Pakistan.
Dr. Usama Ijaz Bajwa, Program Chair, presented a summary of the Conference and highlighted that a total of 18 invited talks were delivered, and 17 technical sessions were organized and were chaired by renowned academicians. All these talks were thought provoking and a source of inspiration for the audience.
Panel discussion on “How to make Digital Pakistan a reality” was held. Dr. Shoaib A Khan, member Prime Minister Task force, Dr. Zia ul Qayyum, Vice Chancellor, Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad and Syed Junaid Imam, Digital Transformation lead, Ministry of IT were the panelists. Fruitful deliberations were made on transformation of Digital Pakistan into reality which will be transformed in the form of working paper to proceed.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tabasum Afzal, Rector, COMSATS University Islamabad, in his remarks thanked the Chief guest, General Chair FIT, invited speakers, authors, researchers and participants of the conference for wonderful contribution for the successful event. He appreciated the large participation of the female scientific community in FIT 2021 and requested the Secretary and member MoIT and Members of the PM Task Force to allocate a separate category of scholarships for women in the area of ICT.  
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, General Chair FIT 2021 in his closing remarks, thanked the researchers, invited speakers from all over the world who shared their research with participants. He also thanked the authors, sponsors i.e. Ministry of Science and Technology Pakistan, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, National Testing Service, Bank of Punjab, Askari Bank and technical co-sponsors IEEE Islamabad Section. He acknowledged the organizers for successfully hosting the international event.
