Training on GenAI, Ethics and the Future of the Work, CUI, Abbottabad

The Faculty Development Academy (FDA), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) organized training on GenAI, Ethics and the Future of the Work on December 18, 2025 in CUI Abbottabad campus. The objective of the training was to build awareness among faculty members of CUI Abbottabad on the impact of Generative AI on the future work especially in the higher education teaching as well as its ethical considerations. 

 

The resource person of the training was Prof Dr Sajjad A Madani, Controller Examination, CUI and a renowned Professor of Computer Science, CUI, who shared insights on the impact of Generative AI on the future of work and the ethical considerations that come with it. Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak, acting Rector CUI and Director, CUI, Abbottabad was the chief guest of the training and gave his address in the opening session of the training.

 

The primary objective of the training was to equip participants with a critical understanding of how generative AI is reshaping academics, decision-making, and teaching/ research in the higher education. The learning outcomes included that the faculty members will be able to explain the core capabilities and limitations of GenAI, analyze its ethical and societal implications, and evaluate its impact on academic integrity, privacy, bias, and intellectual property.

 

The session delved into the transformative potential of GenAI, its applications, and the challenges it poses to industries and professionals alike. Prof. Dr. Sajjad A. Madani emphasized the need for responsible AI development and deployment, highlighting the importance of ethics in shaping the future of work.

 

Faculty members from various departments attended the sessions, engaging in thought-provoking discussions and debates on the role of AI in shaping the future of work. The sessions were an eye-opener for the participants, highlighting the need to integrate ethics and AI in our academic and professional pursuits.

 

The training program was in line with the vision of the Rector CUI, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, T.I. to improve quality of teaching and University readiness towards GenAI and future of academics in the higher education.

 

This training was incredibly valuable in helping to optimize the workflow and improve overall efficiency. FDA remains committed to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, empowering the employees of CUI to excel in their roles and contribute to the university's mission. The participants were satisfied with the content and delivery of module. FDA acknowledged the efforts of the Director, CUI, Abbottabad and his team for making excellent arrangements of the training.
