Capacity Building Training Program for Tech and Digital Transformation to Improve Office Efficiency, CUI Abbottabad

The Faculty Development Academy (FDA), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) organized a Capacity Building Training Program for Tech and Digital Transformation to Improve Office Efficiency on December 18, 2025 in CUI Abbottabad. The training was designed to enhance the technical and digital expertise of the officers and staff members working in CUI Abbottabad. The focus was on use of AI and automation tools to improve effectiveness and their efficiency. 

 

The training program commenced with an inaugural ceremony featuring the recitation of the Holy Quran. There were two sessions. The first session was for officers and second session was for staff members working in CUI Abbottabad. The resource person of both sessions was Mr. Fazal ur Rehman Azad, Deputy Controller of Examination, CUI, Virtual Campus.

 

Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak, acting Rector CUI and Director, CUI, Abbottabad was the chief guest of the training and gave his address in the opening session of the training.The training was in line with the vision of the Rector CUI, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, T.I. to transform university to digitalize its processes and enhance use of AI tools to perform jobs efficiently for ultimate satisfaction of students, employees, customers and stakeholders.This training was valuable to initiate the process of optimizing workflows and improving overall office efficiency of the university.

 

This training was incredibly valuable in helping to optimize the workflow and improve overall office efficiency. FDA is committed to build capacity of its employees by offering trainings to foster culture of excellence and employee development to contribute in achieving university's overall mission. The participants of the training were satisfied with the contents and delivery. Group photo of both sessions were taken to commemorate the occasion.

Training on GenAI, Ethics and the Future of the Work, CUI, Abbottabad

The Faculty Development Academy (FDA), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) organized training on GenAI, Ethics and the Future of the Work on December 18, 2025 in CUI Abbottabad campus. The objective of the training was to build awareness among faculty members of CUI Abbottabad on the impact of Generative AI on the future work especially in the higher education teaching as well as its ethical considerations. 

 

The resource person of the training was Prof Dr Sajjad A Madani, Controller Examination, CUI and a renowned Professor of Computer Science, CUI, who shared insights on the impact of Generative AI on the future of work and the ethical considerations that come with it. Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak, acting Rector CUI and Director, CUI, Abbottabad was the chief guest of the training and gave his address in the opening session of the training.

 

The primary objective of the training was to equip participants with a critical understanding of how generative AI is reshaping academics, decision-making, and teaching/ research in the higher education. The learning outcomes included that the faculty members will be able to explain the core capabilities and limitations of GenAI, analyze its ethical and societal implications, and evaluate its impact on academic integrity, privacy, bias, and intellectual property.

 

The session delved into the transformative potential of GenAI, its applications, and the challenges it poses to industries and professionals alike. Prof. Dr. Sajjad A. Madani emphasized the need for responsible AI development and deployment, highlighting the importance of ethics in shaping the future of work.

 

Faculty members from various departments attended the sessions, engaging in thought-provoking discussions and debates on the role of AI in shaping the future of work. The sessions were an eye-opener for the participants, highlighting the need to integrate ethics and AI in our academic and professional pursuits.

 

The training program was in line with the vision of the Rector CUI, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, T.I. to improve quality of teaching and University readiness towards GenAI and future of academics in the higher education.

The Faculty Development Academy (FDA), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) organized Capacity Building Training Program on GenAI, Ethics and the Future of Work

on December 12, 2025at CUI Attock Campus. The objective of the training was to to build awareness among faculty members of CUI Attock on the impact of Generative AI on the future work and its ethical consideration. There were two training sessions for two different groups of faculty members.

The training program commenced with an inaugural ceremony featuring the recitation of the Holy Quran. Mr. Ali Tawab Baloch, Incharge, FDA delivered a warm welcome to the Director of CUI Attock campus, participants and resource persons of the training, highlighting the significance of the training in advancing the capacities of employees of CUI Attock campus. The Director CUI Attock campus Prof Laiq Khan also shared his views about the training and use of technology in higher education.

The resource person of the training was Prof. Dr. Sajjad A. Madani, Controller Examination, CUI Islamabad campus and Professor of Computer Science in CUI as well as renowned expert in Artificial Intelligence and Ethics, who shared insights on the impact of Generative AI on the future of work and the ethical considerations that come with it.

The training focused on equipping faculty members with a critical understanding of how generative AI is reshaping professional practice, decision-making, and higher education. The learning outcomes included that the faculty members will be able to explain the core capabilities and limitations of GenAI, analyze its ethical and societal implications, and evaluate its impact on academic integrity, privacy, bias, and intellectual property.

Participants were also taught to identify emerging workforce trends driven by AI adoption, articulate the human skills that remain essential in an AI-enabled workplace, and design learning activities or assessments that integrate GenAI responsibly. Ultimately, the learning outcomes focused on empowering faculty to guide students toward informed, ethical, and future-ready engagement with AI technologies.

Tech and Digital Transformation Training: Capacity Building for a Digital Era

The Faculty Development Academy (FDA), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) organized “Capacity Building Training Program for Tech and Digital Transformation” on November 25, 2025 in CUI Attock campus. The objective of the training was to build capacity of the officers and staff members of CUI Attock for tech and digital transformation to improve office efficiency. The focus was on use of AI and automation tools to improve effectiveness and their efficiency. 

There were two sessions of the training. The first session was for officers and second session was for staff members of CUI Attock. Each session was 90 minutes long. The resource person of both sessions was Mr. Fazal ur Rehman Azad, Deputy Controller of Examination and Head of Digital Content Department, CUI, Virtual Campus. Prof. Dr. Laiq Khan, Director, CUI, Attock was chief guest of the training program and gave his intellectual as well as motivational address during opening session to the participants of the training.

The training program was in line with the vision of the Rector Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, T.I. to transform university to digitalize its processes and enhance use of AI tools to perform jobs efficiently for ultimate satisfaction of students, employees, customers and stakeholders.

The Departments of Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering at COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus, jointly organized a faculty training session titled “Introduction to Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Bloom’s Taxonomy” on October 15, 2025, in the ECE Conference Room.

The session was conducted by Dr. Adeel Akram, who shared valuable insights on modern pedagogical approaches and their integration into higher education. The training aimed to enhance faculty understanding of the OBE framework, focusing on effective curriculum design, assessment alignment, and continuous quality improvement.

The trainer provided a comprehensive overview of OBE principles, highlighting the significance of well-defined Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs). He also demonstrated how Bloom’s Taxonomy supports the development of measurable learning outcomes aligned with appropriate teaching and assessment strategies.

Faculty members from both departments actively participated in interactive discussions, sharing challenges related to defining outcomes, mapping assessment tools, and maintaining constructive alignment. Dr. Akram offered practical guidance on addressing these challenges through structured rubrics, data-driven evaluation, and continuous improvement practices.

Over 20 faculty members attended the session, which concluded with a note of appreciation to Dr. Adeel Akram for his engaging and informative contribution toward strengthening outcome-based teaching and learning practices at CUI Wah Campus
