Dr. Aurangzeb Zulfiqar Khan earned his
Diplom (Master's Degree) in Business Administration with specialization in
Finance from the University of Trier, Germany, in 1990. In 2000 he earned
his Master's Degree in Public Administration from the German University of
Administrative Sciences, Speyer, Germany, and his PhD in Public
Administration from the same university in 2004.
Dr. Khan worked as Executive Assistant at Hilal
Consultants Private Limited in Islamabad, as Programme Coordinator in
Islamabad for the Hanns-Seidel Foundation, Germany, and as a Research
Fellow for political economy at the Institute of Strategic Studies,
Islamabad. He joined our department as an Assistant Professor in March
2005.
Dr. Khan has authored fourteen research publications in
the USA, Germany and Pakistan. His work includes pioneering contributions
on the subject of economic confidence-building measures between India and
Pakistan. He contributed papers on SAARC and ECO, on public administration
in Pakistan and on law enforcement in Germany and the European Union. His
main teaching subject and area of research interest at CIIT is Project
Management. He has also taught our students Operations Management,
Total Quality Management, Business Research Methods, and International
Human Resource Management.
Dr. Khan has served on our department's faculty selection,
MBA student admission and viva examination committees, and he is the
Convenor of our department's Research Committee. He has been awarded the
prize for Best Teacher 2007 by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan
and has been nominated by COMSATS for the presidential award
Izaz-e-Fazeelat. Fluent in German, Dr. Khan is CIIT's designated contact
person for collaborative linkages with German universities and
organizations. He assisted the HEC 's task force for
establishment of the Pakistan-German University of Technology at Lahore.
Dr. Khan is proceeding in August 2010 to the United States of America as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar. He will be researching and lecturing on his field of specialization project stakeholder management at the University of Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering.
