The Department of Mathematics COMSATS University Islamabad, Islamabad Campus has been well-known for its strength, and its history. Since its establishment, many outstanding mathematicians have worked here. The mathematics department of CU, Islamabad always has a leading position at home and has been famous abroad for its academic effects, especially in the areas of Computational Fluid Dynamics, fluid mechanics, numerical simulations, differential equations, and dynamic systems, number theory, and scientific computing.

The Department of Mathematics offers three major programs, BS Mathematics, MS Mathematics, and Ph.D. Math program. The Department of Mathematics has a strong academic faculty of 41 members, including 4 full Tenured Professors, 13 Associate Professors, 13 Assistant Professors, 8 Lectures, and 3 Research Associates.

The faculty members devote themselves to teaching and original research. Altogether, 100% of the basic and specialized courses in the Department of Mathematics are taught by professors, associate professors, and assistant professors. From establishment to now 140 Ph.D. students are completed their degrees from the Department of Mathematics. Currently, 81 Ph.D. students, 197 MS students, and 262 + BS students are enrolled in the Department of Mathematics.
