Guest Lecture by Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy on Nobel Prize 2025 Held at Department of Physics, CUI Islamabad

The Department of Physics, COMSATS University Islamabad, hosted an insightful lecture on 17 November 2025 delivered by the distinguished physicist and academic, Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy. The talk focused on the Nobel Prize in Physics 2025, highlighting the scientific breakthroughs, theoretical foundations, and experimental achievements that shaped this year’s award.

Dr. Hoodbhoy explained complex quantum concepts with exceptional clarity, engaging both students and faculty through detailed board work and interactive discussion. His presentation offered a rich blend of physics, history, and scientific curiosity, making the session both intellectually stimulating and memorable.

Following the lecture, the department presented Dr. Hoodbhoy with a token of appreciation for his valuable contribution. Faculty members, students, and invited guests expressed their gratitude for this rare opportunity to learn from one of Pakistan’s most respected physicists.

The delegate comprising of Mr Zhang Heqing Cultural Counselor and Director China Cultural Center in Pakistan, Professor Xu Xiaodong, Department of Arts, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Mr. Lan Jian Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Mr. You BaoMing, Director Programs at China Culture Center in Pakistan visited  COMSATS University Islamabad campus on 23^rd October

The delegate had  called on  Rector CUI Prof. Dr Raheel Qamar in the presence of Chairperson as well as Dean Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture and the staff of China Study Center. Projects of mutual interest were discussed with the special focus on conducting the joint research in the field of Art and Design. Discussions were also made to conduct joint activities including lectures, seminars, conferences and other cultural activities between CUI and China Culture Center in Pakistan.

Professor Xu Xiaodong, especially came from China to deliver a lecture on "Artistic Interaction between China and the Central Asia Jades from 15th to 18th Century”. The lecture was based on early jade was used as an ornament or sacrificial utensils. 

Mr. Wajid Kamaran, Additional Registrar and Student of CUI Student China Society played flute and Rubab, which was  highly enjoyable and appreciated by the audience and by the Chinese delegate. The visit proved to be very useful and ended with presentation of souvenirs to guests.
