CCRD Plantation Dive 2023 in collaboration with Meezan Bank
Centre for Climate Research and Development (CCRD), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) organized a second plantation drive during 2023 on 16 August 2023 which is sponsored by Meezan Bank. Dr. Toqeer Ahmed, Tenured Associate Professor took the lead and co-organized the second plantation drive with colleagues at CCRD, CUI, and Mr. Mehboob Alam Khan, Head of MEP, Sustainability & HSEMEP, Meezan Bank. More than 100 plants (both shade and fruit plants) were planted with the support of CUI team at different locations of Islamabad including Parks, Mosques, outside of the schools. Green belt etc. Dr. Abdul Waheed from CU Online and Dr. Rizwan Mughal from Meteorology department actively participated in the activity. This activity was part of World Environment Day 2023 which was postponed due to hot summer and organized in August 2023.
CCRD has already organized a plantation drive in March 2023 sponsored by National Centre for Cleaner Production (NCP), Rawalpindi. CCRD highly acknowledge the support received from both the donors, Meezan Bank and NCP.
