May be an image of 8 people and text7th Semester students Sabeeka Fatima (FA20-BCE074) and Shiza Nadeem (FA20-BCE-074) from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at COMSATS University Islamabad attended the prestigious EduTourism's Young Leader Convention 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey, from August 24 to August 28. To begin with, the Young Leaders Convention in Istanbul in 2023 provided us with a fantastic opportunity to network globally. As the saying goes, "No roses without thorns," this journey enhanced our personal growth in various ways, including managing travel logistics from airports to our destination. Overflowing with positive experiences, we gained valuable insights on various topics, including administration, business ventures, and community development, which served as a unifying platform for delegates from diverse backgrounds. The convention commenced with introductory sessions for all delegates and mentors, where we even had the privilege of meeting the Ambassador of Sudan. During icebreaking sessions, we engaged with fellow attendees and shared our perspectives on the idea of Sustainable Development Goals to be achieved by 2030, a central theme of the convention. On the flip side, we participated in different panel discussions covering leadership strategies, communication skills, and thriving economies. Day 2 was a remarkable cultural exchange as we dressed according to our national cultures, allowing each member to showcase their country. This was followed by a memorable group photo session and autograph exchange. Adding to the excitement, we had the privilege of meeting Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Usman Rana, the Head of Finance and Senior Lecturer in the Finance Department at Birmingham City University. He was a remarkably humble individual who shared his experiences and guided us toward upcoming educational opportunities in expert programs. Furthermore, on Day 3, we explored Istanbul's historic landmarks, including Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Taksim Square, and the Galata Tower. The day concluded with a delightful dinner cruise along the Bosphorus, making the evening truly unforgettable. This convention encouraged us to broaden our horizons and consider global social challenges in a broader context. It undoubtedly enhanced our leadership and public speaking skills. Representing Pakistan on the international stage was an honor warmly welcomed worldwide. Thank you, Dr. Mahmood, for extending the opportunity and providing valuable guidance for our participation in this esteemed conference. Click here for more information
