RoundTable Discussion on The Impact of Climate Change on Global Food Production; Alternatives for Pakistan was held at the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) on February 28th, 2023. The leading experts in the field of agriculture, technology, and climate participated in the discussion and brainstormed ideas on how Pakistan can work towards reducing emissions and climate resilient agriculture. Ms. Farzana Altaf Shah (DG, Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency, Ministry of Climate Change) and Dr. Arif Goheer, (Head of Agriculture, Forestry and Land Use Section, Global Change Impact Studies Centre) discussed the issues related to food insecurity, water Scarcity, and changing cropping patterns.

Dr Ghulam Abbas from CCRD talked about the decline in crop production due to salinity, drought and heat stress and emphasized the need of introducing climate resilient crops in Pakistan.
