The second edition of the Young Researchers' Convention (YRC) on the National Security Ecosystem of Pakistan took place at Hotel Margala, Islamabad on 7 February 2023. Mr Anas Abdullah, Executive Director of the Centre for Strategic and Contemporary Research (CSCR), opened the convention by stressing the need for an intellectual compass. Dr Adnan Rafiq, Member of Governance, Innovation and Reforms at the Planning Commission of Pakistan, highlighted the importance of inclusivity in policymaking. Dr Aasim Sajjad Akhtar, Associate Professor Quaid-i-Azam University, discussed the lack of facts in public perspectives and the need to focus on global problems. Dr Hussain Nadim from Transformations of the Human (ToftH) outlined the need for definitional clarity of the theme of “Curating Future Technologies’ Landscape”. Lastly, Dr Salma Malik, Assistant Professor at the Quaid-i-Azam University, spoke on the topic of “Safeguarding National Interest in Turbulent Times”, while the fourth theme of the day was “Guaranteeing Climate Consciousness”.

Mr. Muhammad Zahir attended this event from CCRD as a panelist, he was part of the working committee on guaranteeing climate consciousness. The committee discussed various important topics.
