One day seminar on “The Risk Factors for Adverse Outcomes with COVID-19 Infections & Its Management” 17th February 2022

We live in an age of rolling news and social media, where language matters more than ever. In the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of people lack basic information about how to keep themselves, their families, and their communities safe and well. Some don’t know what to do, and why to do it. As a consequence, they might not be able to make informed decisions about how to behave – which won’t slow the spread of disease. Fear and anxiety about the ongoing pandemic has led to social stigma. To address the issues related to growing pandemic Center for Climate Research and Development (CCRD), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), organized one day seminar on “The Risk Factors for Adverse Outcomes with COVID-19 Infections & Its Management”. The seminar started with recitation of Holy Quran followed by brief welcome note by Dr. Athar Hussain Head CCRD.

The guest speaker Dr. Farhan Abdul Rauf, a medical doctor having PhD and Masters in Public health briefed participants about myths and realities associated with COVID-19. The participants including faculty and students of CUI learned about domains of Advancing Human Rights, Social, Economic, and Environmental Justice, Psychological Safety, Inter-Professional Education, Health Risk Assessment, Social Awareness, Responsible Decision Making, Health Education & Promotion.
