Though the Department of Art and Design may be a comparatively young program, here we more than make up for it with our energy, our constant search for inspiration and innovation, through the means of questioning, researching, and making. For those of you who have joined us in this journey, I hope you will enjoy your four year stay. In the Department of Art and Design, we offer three programs, exploring three facets of Art and Design – Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Design, and Bachelor of Interior Design.

The Fine Arts program is one that is designed to unlock the inner creativity of all those who choose to walk down the path of this discipline. Being offered the chance to explore the four major disciplines of Painting, Miniature Painting (the Art of the Illuminated Manuscript), Printmaking, and Sculpture, we pride ourselves at our interdisciplinary approach and combine traditional skill sets with alternate mediums such as Textile, Digital Arts, Photography, Film, and many more, with the aim to develop in each student a very unique and individual expression.

In the Design program, you will learn to master the means to communicate with your audience through your Design. With a focus on Print and Digital Design, the discipline concentrates in honing the skills of those who choose this route by mastering Illustration, Animation, Film Making, UI and UX, Packaging and more – all to best speak one’s message and make a change through one’s art. The student of Design is one who can integrate into any field – from creating books to apps, advertisement to film.

Finally, the Interior Design program skirts the boundaries of an interdisciplinary merger between Art, Design, and Architecture, allowing those who learn this art to create to make a change in one’s own environment. Integral in improving the lifestyle of all, those who study Interior Design are valued as creators who make a change by rendering spaces habitable, to bring life in the mundane, and bringing creativity in the daily life of all who interact with their craft.

Whichever field you will choose, you will surely enjoy your time here in the Department. With our faculty being some of the most skilled professionals in the field, and our one-on-one personalised approach to teaching, the Department aims to create the ideal environment for nurturing new ideas.
