The BS Mathematics program at CUI, Islamabad is designed to cater the evolving international trends in mathematical education. Learning derives from problem solving and aims at bringing out independent thinking skills. This course focuses on those areas of mathematics which are most readily applicable for the investigation of real-world problems. This course gives you a solid foundation in the fundamentals of applicable mathematics, with the computational support required for real-world investigations built-in to form a coherent modern programme.

The aim of BS Mathematics Program is to educate mathematics in much more interactive and conceptual point of view. Investigations and conceptual learning allow one to see Mathematics being created by oneself. Our mission is to provide a new generation of innovative researchers and quality teachers to the nation. Our graduates will find numerous opportunities working at research and teaching institutes in Pakistan and abroad.
Why Study Mathematics
Mathematics is a universal part of human culture. It is the tool and language of engineering and other sciences – physics, computing, biology etc. Mathematics plays a vital, often unseen, role in many aspects of modern life, e.g. space travel, credit card details on the internet, modelling the functions of human body organs (e.g. heart and brain), modelling the spread of epidemics such as Dengue and COVID-19 etc.
Mathematics is also about pattern and structure; it is about logical analysis, deduction, calculation within these patterns and structures. When patterns are found, often in widely different areas of science and technology, the mathematics of these patterns can be used to explain and control natural happenings and situations. Mathematics has an insidious influence on everyday lives and contributes to the wealth of the country.
This degree will provide you with a broad range of skills in problem solving, logical reasoning and flexible thinking. This leads to careers that are exciting, challenging, and diverse in nature. Whatever your career plans, or if you have no plans at present, a degree in mathematics provides you with particularly good job prospects.
Entry Requirements
- Intermediate or equivalent with Mathematics, with minimum 50% marks, from an accredited institution.
- NTS test.
