The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) re-accreditation team visited COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Wah Campus, on May 26-27, 2025, to conduct a re-accreditation audit of the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program for the intake batches of Fall 2021 and onward. The visiting team comprised the following evaluations:
1. Engr. Prof. Dr. Khalid Farooq – University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore
2. Engr. Prof. Dr. M. Rizwan – National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Risalpur
3. Engr. Prof. Dr. Saeed Ullah Jan Mandokhail – Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Quetta
4. Engr. Dr. Shaikh Saaqib Haroon – UET, Taxila
5. Engr. Prof. Dr. Junaid Ali Khan – HITEC University, Taxila
6. Engr. Ana Zulfiqar – Representative, Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC)
The team was warmly welcomed by the Director Campus Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, T.I., Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Shahzad A. Malik, Chairman, Department of Civil Engineering Tenured Associate Professor Adnan Nawaz, Head of Department, Civil Engineering Dr. Hassan Ashraf.
The visit started with a presentation by the Director Campus, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, presenting a comprehensive Campus Report, highlighting the Campus key achievements, infrastructure development, academic advancements and strategic plans of CUI Wah Campus. The Chairman Civil Engineering, Tenured Associate Professor Adnan Nawaz briefed on the overall department’s academic achievements and future benchmarking strategies. Dr. Hassan Ashraf, HoD Civil Engineering, presented the Departmental Report, detailing academic performance, research initiatives, faculty development and student engagement.
Throughout two days, the PEC team conducted an extensive review of campus facilities, Classrooms, Computer laboratories, all administrative sections, departmental offices and workspaces. They held interactive sessions with industry partners, faculty members, students, and Section Heads, assessing the academic environment, curriculum implementation, teaching methodologies and support services.
The visit concluded with a closing session on May 27, 2025, during which the Director Campus expressed gratitude to the visiting team for their valuable insights and feedback. As a gesture of appreciation, souvenirs from CUI Wah Campus were presented to the PEC team.
The visit concluded on a positive note from the PEC team and a formal vote of thanks.
