The Department of Civil Engineering organized a Training Session on “Safety” for students and lab staff on March 06, 2025. The guest speaker for the safety training session was Mr. Muhammad Sohaib from the Mechanical Engineering Department, who has extensive experience as an Assistant Engineer and Safety Engineer in various construction projects at the national and international levels.

During the session, the guest provided an insightful overview of safety protocols in the construction industry, highlighting both on-site safety measures and post-construction safety considerations. He emphasized the critical role of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in ensuring worker safety and demonstrated the proper use of fire extinguishers in emergency situations. He also provided hands-on guidance to students on the proper selection and usage of PPEs during lab work, emphasizing their importance in preventing workplace injuries.

Students actively participated by asking the guest speaker questions, leading to an engaging discussion. The session was highly interactive and informative, providing participants with valuable safety insights applicable to their professional careers. The Civil Engineering Department aims to conduct more such training programs in the future to promote a safe and secure working environment.

At the end of the session, the Convener of the Department Safety Committee, Dr. Rana Faisal Tufail, Assistant Professor, presented a certificate to the guest speaker as a token of appreciation with a vote of thanks.
