Professional Growth & Academic Excellence – In-Service Training Program 2025, CUI Islamabad Campus, Aug 26-27, 2025
The Faculty Development Academy, COMSATS University Islamabad organized Excellence in Academia - In-Service Training Program 2025 of faculty members hired in 38th Selection Board of CUI. It was a two days intense training program starting from Aug 26-27, 2025 in CUI Islamabad campus. There were 15 participants of the In-Service Training Program 2025 from the Department of Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering of CUI Islamabad, Wah and Attock campuses.
The purpose of the training was to build capacity, enhance soft skills, knowledge, and competence of faculty members. The In-Service Training Program 2025 had eight (8) sessions of ninety minutes each. The topics of the training were; Introduction to Blooms Taxonomy and CUI Scheme of Studies, Preparing and Delivering Effective Lesson Plans, Effective Lectures, Testing and Assessment, Out of Box Thinking, Teaching in the 21st Century and Becoming a Reflective Teacher, Communication and Interpersonal Skills, and Emotional Intelligence and Stress Management.
The resource persons of the training sessions were; Dr. Muhammad Imran Shahzad, Chairman and Tenured Associate Professor, Meteorology Department, Dr Ayesha Inam, Tenured Associate Professor, Humanities Department, Dr. Haroon Ahmed Khan, Assistant Professor, Computer Engineering Department, Dr. Muhammad Asif Javed, Assistant Professor, Humanities Department, Mr Khursheed Yousuf, Ex- Director FDA and Dr Mumtaz Fatima Jaffery, Ex-Director, FDA.
The In-Service Training Program 2025 is the vision of the Rector CUI for the professional development and capacity building of faculty members of CUI. The certificates were awarded to the participants who successfully attended the training. A group photo was taken as a token of memory.

The Faculty Development Academy, COMSATS University Islamabad concluded Excellence in Academia - In-Service Training Program 2025 of faculty members hired in 38th Selection Board of CUI. It was a two days intense training program from Aug 20-21, 2025 in CUI Lahore campus. There were 13 participants of the In-Service Training Program 2025 from the Departments of Computer Science, Media and Pharmacy of CUI Lahore campus who were hired last year in 38th selection board of CUI.
The purpose of the training was to build capacity, enhance soft skills, knowledge, and performance of faculty members. The In-Service Training Program 2025 had eight (8) sessions of ninety minutes each. The topics of the training were; Preparing & Delivering Effective Lectures, Testing and Assessment, Teaching Ethics, Time Management, Communication and Interpersonal Skills, Classroom Management, Emotional Intelligence and Stress Management. The resource persons, Dr. Abdus Sattar Abbasi, Dr. Muhammad Shahzad Khurram, Dr. Muhammad Aksam Iftikhar, Dr. Imran Shafique, Dr. Shameem Fatima, Dr. Ahmad Qamar, Mr. Nadeem Ghafoor and Mr. Muhammad Kashif Luqman, were from the Lahore campus.
The In-Service Training Program 2025 is the vision of the Rector CUI for professional development and capacity building of faculty members of CUI. FDA acknowledged the efforts of the Director Lahore campus Prof Dr Sarfraz Ahmad, Tenured Professor and his team for successfully arranging the training. The certificates were awarded to the participants at the completion of the training. A group photo was taken to commemorate the event.

CUI Empowers Chairpersons with Outcome-Based Education Training to Boost Academic Quality of COMSATS University Islamabad, August 12-13, 2025
The Faculty Development Academy, COMSATS University Islamabad organized Outcome Based Education (OBE) Training Program for Chairpersons of COMSATS University Islamabad on Aug 12-13, 2025. The training aimed to equip academic leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement OBE effectively in their respective academic departments across CUI system. It was two days intensive training program. Outcome-Based Education is a student-centric approach that focuses on measuring student learning outcomes.
The training program formally started with the recitation of holy Quran, followed by welcoming remarks by Mr. Ali Tawab Baloch, Incharge FDA. He welcomed the participants and shared the objectives of the training program. The training was organized on the directions of the Rector CUI to implement OBE in all academic departments of CUI. The Rector CUI addressed the participants and shared his vision and goals of the training. He emphasized that by implementing OBE, CUI aims to enhance the quality of education and produce graduates who are well-prepared to meet the demands of the industry.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Junaid Mughal T.I., Dean, Faculty of Engineering, CUI and Dr Haroon Ahmed Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Engineering, CUI Islamabad were the resource persons for the training. A total of 14 Chairpersons attended the training.
The training had eight sessions. The training covered the fundamental principles of OBE and its significance in modern education. It discussed effective assessment and evaluation methods to measure student learning outcomes. Participants learned about designing and developing curricula that align with OBE standards.
The training was highly successful. The training was very engaging and participants had fruitful discussions on different concepts of OBE and its role in improvement of quality of teaching. The participants were very enthusiastic and satisfied with the quality of contents and learning outcomes of the training. COMSATS University Islamabad is committed to providing high-quality education and fostering research excellence.

Educators Empowered: In-Service Training on Excellence in Academia Elevates Teaching Standards – In-Service Training Program 2025, CUI Abbottabad Campus, Aug 4 – 5, 2025
The Faculty Development Academy, COMSATS University Islamabad is vigorously working on the development of its human capital. Maintaining the pace of achievements, FDA concluded another training program on Excellence in Academia - In-Service Training Program 2025 of faculty members hired in 38th Selection Board of CUI. It was a two days intense training program starting from 0900 hrs till 1645 hrs from Aug 4-5, 2025 in CUI Abbottabad campus. There were 16 participants of the In-Service Training Program 2025 from the Department of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Humanities and Pharmacy of CUI Abbottabad campus.
The In-Service Training Program 2025 is the vision of the Rector CUI for professional development and capacity building of faculty members of CUI. To compete with the fast moving world, CUI is consciously and effectively working on the quality of education and hence up-skilling their faculty members. The core objective of the training was to enhance the skills, knowledge, capacity and performance of faculty members.
The training started formally with the recitation of few verses from the Holy Quran followed by an opening speech. Mr Ali Tawab Baloch Incharge Faculty Development Academy welcomed the participants. He briefed about the purpose and objectives of the In-Service Training Program 2025. Prof Dr Shahid Khattak, Director, CUI Abbottabad was the chief guest. Prof Khattak enlightened the audience with his precious words. He appreciated the initiative of FDA – CUI to arrange capacity building training program of their faculty members. He further encouraged participants to avail this opportunity and get maximum benefit to augment skills, knowledge and expertise.
The In-Service Training Program 2025 had eight (8) sessions of ninety minutes each. Most of the topics of the training were entirely related to the academia and some topics were related to capacity building as well. The resource persons of the training sessions were from the respective campus.
FDA acknowledged the efforts of the Director Abbottabad campus and his team in successfully arranging the training. The participants shared their feedback and comments with FDA. These comments and suggestions are always helpful in improving the quality of trainings. The certificates were awarded to the participants on the successful completion of training. A group photo was captured to commemorate the occasion.

- The Inter Islamic Network on Information Technology (INIT) in collaboration with Inter-Islamic Network on Space Sciences & Technology (ISNET) organized online training course on Leveraging AI for Precision Agriculture.
