On September 1, 2024, the Department of Economics Comsats conducted an orientation for new students enrolling in the BS programs in Economics and Economics with Data Science. The session aimed to provide students with an overview of their respective programs, introduce key faculty members, and outline essential resources and administrative details.

The orientation began with an introduction to the Economics and Economics with Data Science programs. Students were briefed on the core curriculum for each program, with Economics focusing on foundational courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. In contrast, Economics with Data Science highlighted the integration of data analysis, statistical methods, and computational tools with economic theory.

Faculty members were introduced, including their research areas and contact details. Professors emphasized their availability for student engagement and encouraged participation in research and academic discussions. Students received information on academic resources, including tutoring services, library access, and the course management system. Guidance was provided on how to navigate these resources effectively to support their studies.

The session also covered opportunities for involvement in student organizations related to Economics and Data Science. Upcoming events and workshops were mentioned as key opportunities for professional development and networking. Administrative essentials, such as course registration procedures, important deadlines, and academic policies, were reviewed.
