Rector's visit to CUI Attock
CUI Attock Campus had the honor of hosting Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, T.I., Rector COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), accompanied by Dr. Fahim A. Qureshi, Registrar CUI, and Mr. Abdul Majid Qureshi, SO to Rector, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
He was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Junaid Mughal, T.I., along with administrative and senior faculty members.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar held interactive sessions with the Faculty, Officers, and Staff, fostering open dialogue on academic and administrative matters.
The Rector appreciated the team’s efforts and encouraged continued dedication and innovation for CUI’s growth.

Worthy Rector COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tabassum Afzal, visited Attock Campus on 7th September 2022.
He was accompanied by Director PD&HRD Dr. Tahir Naeem, Registrar Prof. Sajjad A. Madani, Treasurer Mr. Muhammad Azam, Controller Examination Mr. Sohail Ghani, Prof. Sohail Asghar, Additional Registrar Naveed Ahmed Khan, and Staff Officer Abdul Majid Qureshi.
Campus Director Prof. Dr. Muhammad Junaid Mughal, T.I along with faculty members and staff warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and briefed them about the ongoing educational, research and development projects at CUI ?Attock.
Rector CUI and all the guests planted trees with a vision of clean & green Pakistan.
On this occasion, all the members prayed for the prosperity of homeland, CUI Attock and especially for the flood victims.

Prof. Muhammad T. Afzal, Rector CUI calls on Federal Minister for
Education and Professional Training
Press Release: Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Muhammad T. Afzal, Rector COMSATS University
Islamabad (CUI) called on the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training,
Shafqat Mehmood in his office to discuss cooperation between COMSATS University and
the Ministry of Education. Prof. Afzal apprised the minister regarding his recent assumption
of charge and issues at CUI which are being addressed on a fast pace.
Mr. Shafqat Mehmood opined that CUI is a national asset and it is his desire to see the
institution flourish as well as participate actively in various programs of education as a national
think tank. Mr. Shafqat Mehmood lauded the efforts of CUI leadership in consistently promoting
quality education and bringing accolades for Pakistan.

Dear All,
It has been a tremendous research publications journey for CIIT, starting with just 172 publications in 2005-06. Along the way we became the first university in Pakistan to cross the 1000 impact factor journal publications in a calendar year in the year 2015 logging 1263 papers. Then in the year 2016 we became the first university to cross the 1500 mark ending with 1574 impact factor journal publications.
With the grace of Allah SWT in the year 2017 we have now become the first University in Pakistan to cross the psychological barrier of 2000 impact factor journal publications, we are currently at 2029 publications including only articles, reviews and research letters.
Congratulations to all the hardworking faculty members who have excelled in their research and are also showing the way to everyone that it can be done and that we are the best in research in Pakistan.
