Cadets from Cadet College Hasan Abdal completed their internships at the Department of Biosciences. They gained hands-on experience with various bioinformatics tools, including R, Linux and Python with insights into Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Machine Learning. The also had the opportunity to learn and perform several wet lab techniques, such as antimicrobial resistance testing, DNA extractions, and PCRs. Such an experience is invaluable for their future, offering them clear directions for pursuing advanced studies or careers in biotechnology, bioinformatics, or biomedical engineering, where a blend of computational and experimental skills is increasingly sought after.
