COMSATS University Islamabad, Islamabad Campus, hosted a collaborative session featuring representatives from the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the Grievance Commissioner for Children at the Wafaqi Muhtasib Secretariat. Mr. Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi, Federal Ombudsman, inaugurated the session and shared his insights. The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Sohail Asghar, Incharge of the Islamabad Campus, and included notable participants such as Amb. Fauzia Nasreen (Senior Advisor at the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat), Dr. M. Qasim (Security Consultant, ex-Military), Dr. Shabana Fayaz (Associate Professor & Chairperson, Quaid-e-Azam University), Mr. Ammar Jafri (Former Director FIA), and Mr. M. Farooq (Director of the Web Analysis Division).
The session focused on key topics, including education reforms, the development of a staggered curriculum for various education levels, and the importance of knowledge and training in the realm of cyber security and cybercrime. The discussion emphasized the need for a collective effort to promote awareness and safety among individuals, students, faculty, parents, and the broader community against cybercrimes. Additionally, measures to minimize the impact of abuse on victims, particularly the safety of children, were explored and suggested during the session. Overall, the collaborative effort aimed to address pressing issues related to education, cybersecurity, and child safety, fostering a comprehensive approach to tackling these challenges
