The Department

The Department of Mathematics is the pride and joy of COMSATS University Islamabad, Vehari Campus. It boasts a highly-qualified and distinguished faculty, and is a center for excellent research and analysis.

Faculty of Mathematics has been working in this Campus since 2011 and Department of Mathematics is established in 2018. The Department has started four-year BS Mathematics program in Fall 2018 at the Vehari Campus. A MS program in Mathematics will also be started soon.

Currently, the Department offers four-year BS Mathematics, with specializations in various sub-disciplines of Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Computational Mathematics.

The faculty at the Department of Mathematics has an excellent national and international standing and reputation. There are 7 Ph.D. faculty members representing most of the major fields of the current research.

The research output of the department is very impressive and speaks clearly for the quality of the work. Since 2011, more than 28 impact factor papers have been published by the faculty.

The research is being conducted and published extensively in the reputed international journals. There are strong research groups working in various research areas.

The department aims to pursue excellence in Mathematics through teaching and research; by developing appropriate curricula and teaching practices, acquiring talented faculty members, and providing an environment conducive to teaching, research, and learning. The students are encouraged to develop new ideas in research and to apply them in real world problems. The Department is also planning to work with industry for the development of the country.
