Master of Science in English Linguistics
Program Overview
The MS in English Linguistics is a two-year (four-semester) postgraduate program aimed at equipping students with an in-depth understanding of both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of modern and emerging trends in English Linguistics. The program is structured to prepare students for advanced academic research, including progression toward PhD-level studies.

Program Structure
The program includes a total of 30 credit hours, out of which 24 credit hours are dedicated to coursework and 6 credit hours to a research-based MS thesis.
The coursework is divided into four core courses and four general elective courses, each carrying 3 credit hours. The core courses lay the foundation for key concepts and theories in linguistics, while the electives allow students to explore specialized areas based on their interests and future research goals.

Eligibility criteria
Sixteen years of education with specialization in English from an accredited educational institution
NTS (GAT General test) with 50% marks
No third division or D grade throughout the academic career

The key aims and objectives of the MS English Linguistics program are to:
- produce quality postgraduates with 21st century skills in English Language
- introduce the learners to courses from diverse fields to promote transdisciplinary and critical thinking, linguistic and text analysis in their historical, socio-political, cultural and philosophical contexts to develop an understanding of different domains of linguistic and rhetorical skills
