The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering arranged a workshop on “LabView and Software Defined Radios for Engineers” on October 6, 2022 under the supervision of Assistant Professor, Dr. Zeeshan Kaleem. The workshop introduced the basics of applications of NI-LabVIEW and SDRs and provides training on how to integrate different equipment (NI and third party) as well as USRP with LabVIEW to process and visualize RF signals.
The resource person was Engr. Muhammad Ali, working as a RF Front End Design Engineer and LabVIEW Application Designer and having 10 years of relevant industrial experience. He has successfully implemented various National projects on National Instruments (NI) Software Defined Radios (SDRs), guided the students on LabVIEW programming practices to interface with RF Communication Systems, Instrumentation, and Control Systems.
The resource person demonstrates a practical on RF Signals without any further hardware. Hands on USRP to Transmit/Receive Signals in 70MHz to 6GHz of the vast spectrum and how to integrate different equipment (NI and third party) as well as USRP with LabVIEW to process and visualize RF signals. The event ended with a vote of thanks.
