The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering arranged an industrial visit for a group of 39 students of BS (EE) 7th Semester to the 132KV Grid Station, New Wah on December 18, 2019. The Grid Station engineers briefed the students on single line diagram of grid station, switchgear protection and supply of energy. During the visit students were shown Switchyard Substation, Control Room and Protection Room. Students were demonstrated different transformers operations, their ratings, different components of power transformers and auxiliary transformer. Students have learnt bus bar schemes and the use of bus couplers schemes communication with National Power Control Center (NPCC) using OPGW and wave traps. At the end the faculty members, Dr. Umer Javed and Engr. Abdullah Shaukat accompanied with students acknowledged the hospitality of grid station engineers and their detailed briefing.
