The Department of Computer Science in collaboration with Electrical & Computer Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Wah Campus organized 16th Episode of the Visio Spark 2018 a National Level Mega IT Competition Event, on November 17, 2018. More than 1200 students from 40 universities participated in 15 different competitions. The focus of the event was to encourage the students to show their talent and provide a platform to interact and compete, thereby honing their skills and getting exposure to the latest practices and techniques in the fast changing arena of IT.
During event different competitions were organized i.e., Software Project Competition, Quiz Competition, On Spot Programming Competition, Code Debug Competition, Mobile App Development Competition, Web Development Competition, Electrical Engineering Projects Competition, Robo Race Competition, Microwiz Competition, Matlab Guru Competition, Speed Wiring Competition, Poster Designing Competition, Logo Designing Competition, E-Gaming Competition, IT Mushaira Competition. The students enthusiastically participated and tested their expertise/ skills in these competitions.
The Director CUI, Wah Campus, Prof. Dr. Tayyeb Akram, in his welcome note encouraged the participants and appreciated the efforts of students and the organizers of Visio Spark for arranging this mega event and providing opportunity to the students to display their IT skills. He emphasized that Wah Campus encourages academic competitions like Visio Spark which help students to learn, compete and display their professional skills.
The Head of Computer Science Department/Associate Professor, Dr. Ehsan Ullah Munir, in his concluding remarks, thanked students for their active participation and highlighted the efforts of CUI, Wah Campus in producing world class IT professionals, fully trained to tackle the challenges of contemporary era. Mr. Faisal Iqbal Ratyal, Director General (Project Management Office) National Information Technology Board, Ministry of Information and Telecom, Govt of Pakistan was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony. Chief Guest appreciated the work of students and contributions of CUI, Wah Campus in promoting IT industry. At the end, shields, certificates and cash awards were distributed among the winners of different competition.
