Students’ Code of Conduct

As students of one of Pakistan’s leading institutions in engineering education, all students of the Civil Engineering Department, CUI Sahiwal, are expected to uphold a high standard of discipline, decorum, and personal conduct. As key stakeholders of the university community, students are encouraged to actively observe and respect the following code of conduct, to preserve the dignity, safety, and academic integrity of the institution.

Student Identification & Attire

Students must always wear their official university ID cards. Non-compliance will result in an Rs. 200/- fine and confiscation of the card until the fine is paid.

All students are expected to be decently and professionally dressed on campus. Untidy, revealing, or inappropriate attire including shorts, cargo pants, pajamas, slippers, or clothes with offensive images/language is strictly prohibited.

Male students are not allowed to wear jewelry such as chains, bracelets, anklets, or friendship bands.

Students who do not meet the dress code will be denied entry to classrooms, labs, libraries, and faculty offices, and their names will be reported to the Chairman and the Office of Student Affairs.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited at CUI Sahiwal, as it is a No-Smoking Campus. A fine of Rs. 1,000/- will be imposed for the first offense, while a second offense will result in an Rs. 5,000/- fine along with suspension for one semester.

Use of Mobile Devices

Use of mobile phones, camera phones, music players, or other devices is prohibited in academic zones including classrooms, labs, corridors, and libraries.

Violations may lead to confiscation of the device and/or a fine.

Disorderly Conduct

Physical abuse, aggressive behavior, participation in unauthorized gatherings, or any action that threatens campus safety is strictly prohibited.

Such acts will result in disciplinary action, which may include fines or suspension, based on Proctorial review.

Vandalism & Theft

Damage to university property, theft, or tampering with lab and classroom equipment will result in severe penalties, including suspension or legal action.

Littering

Students must maintain cleanliness on campus. Littering or misuse of public spaces will be recorded as misconduct.

Gambling

All forms of gambling and games of chance are strictly prohibited. Violators will be subject to disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the Proctor.

Improper Social Conduct

Bullying, harassment, use of offensive language, or any behavior that embarrasses or harms others is unacceptable and will be penalized.

Additional Misconduct Includes:

  • Failure to show ID when asked
  • Lying to faculty or proctors during investigations
  • Dress or grooming violations
  • Ignoring official summons
  • Horseplay or disruptive behavior
  • Unauthorized possession of university property or lab keys
  • Entering restricted areas of the opposite gender
  • Disrespect toward faculty, staff, or guards
  • Use or possession of drugs, alcohol, or weapons
  • Unauthorized demonstrations or indecent publications
  • Possession or viewing of obscene material
  • Academic disruptions like shouting in silence zones, blocking hallways/stairs
  • Harassment based on race, gender, religion, or ethnicity
  • Threats or physical intimidation
