The Departments of Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering at COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus, jointly organized a faculty training session titled “Introduction to Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Bloom’s Taxonomy” on October 15, 2025, in the ECE Conference Room.
The session was conducted by Dr. Adeel Akram, who shared valuable insights on modern pedagogical approaches and their integration into higher education. The training aimed to enhance faculty understanding of the OBE framework, focusing on effective curriculum design, assessment alignment, and continuous quality improvement.
The trainer provided a comprehensive overview of OBE principles, highlighting the significance of well-defined Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs). He also demonstrated how Bloom’s Taxonomy supports the development of measurable learning outcomes aligned with appropriate teaching and assessment strategies.
Faculty members from both departments actively participated in interactive discussions, sharing challenges related to defining outcomes, mapping assessment tools, and maintaining constructive alignment. Dr. Akram offered practical guidance on addressing these challenges through structured rubrics, data-driven evaluation, and continuous improvement practices.
Over 20 faculty members attended the session, which concluded with a note of appreciation to Dr. Adeel Akram for his engaging and informative contribution toward strengthening outcome-based teaching and learning practices at CUI Wah Campus
