The Department of Computer Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus, organized a faculty training session on “Effective Assessment Design in Outcome-Based Education (OBE)” on October 15, 2025, in the ECE Conference Room. The session, conducted by Dr. Maliha Amjad, focused on developing outcome-aligned assessment strategies within the OBE framework.
The training aimed to enhance faculty understanding of designing assessments that effectively measure Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs). The speaker emphasized constructive alignment among teaching activities, assessments, and learning outcomes, and discussed both formative and summative assessment methods.
Key challenges such as assessment validity, fairness, and alignment between CLOs and assessment tools were also addressed. Practical strategies, including standardized rubrics, measurable performance indicators, and continuous feedback mechanisms, were shared.
More than 20 faculty members from the Electrical and Computer Engineering departments actively participated. The session concluded with appreciation for Dr. Maliha Amjad’s valuable contribution toward strengthening effective teaching and assessment practices.
