The department aims to provide its students a broad foundation in chemistry with the emphasis on scientific reasoning and analytical problem solving skills. The students will conduct research in different areas of chemistry, which will equip them with skills necessary to succeed in any graduate school, industry or professional organization.

The faculty of the Department of chemistry is conducting cutting edge research to provide solutions to the problems faced by the local and international industry. Our students have access to fully functional laboratories to conduct research in the area of nanobiomaterials, theoretical and computational chemistry, water and environmental chemistry and green & sustainable energy etc.

CUI is a leading research university of Pakistan with extensive research infrastructure across its multiple campuses. Our students will have access to latest experimentation and characterization tools such as atomic absorption spectrophotometer, gas chromatograph, X-Ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer, battery/supercapacitor testing system etc.
