At COMSATS University Islamabad, students are expected to uphold a high standard of decorum and professionalism. As members of this esteemed institution, students are encouraged to actively participate in maintaining the integrity and reputation of the university by adhering to the following guidelines:
Student Attire
To maintain a positive image of the university, students must dress appropriately while on campus. Smart and presentable attire is required at all times.
Improper attire includes:
- Inappropriately revealing shorts, ill-fitting jeans, and cargo
- Bedroom wear, clothes with offensive words or images, and
- Male students are also prohibited from wearing jewelry such as chains, bracelets, anklets, and friendship bands.
Students who fail to meet dress standards will not be allowed to attend classes, labs, or use campus facilities. Any non-compliance will be reported to the respective authorities.
Identification Card
Students must display their ID cards at all times. Failure to do so will result in a fine of Rs. 200/- and confiscation of the card until the fine is paid.
Smoking Policy
COMSATS University Islamabad is a No-Smoking campus.
- First-time offenders will be fined 1,000.
- Second-time offenders will face a 5,000 fine and suspension for the semester.
Mobile Phones and Devices
The use of mobile phones, cameras, or music players is prohibited in academic areas, classrooms, and corridors. Violations will result in confiscation of the device or a fine.
Behavior and Conduct
Students are expected to uphold the highest standards of behavior. Disorderly conduct, physical abuse, disturbances, or actions that threaten the safety and security of others will lead to disciplinary action, including fines or suspension.
Vandalism and Theft
Acts of vandalism, mutilation, or theft of university or personal property are strictly prohibited. Offenders will face severe penalties, including suspension from the university.
Littering
Students are encouraged to maintain cleanliness across the campus. A clean environment reflects our commitment to a gracious society. Please dispose of waste responsibly in the provided bins.
Gambling
Gambling in any form is strictly forbidden on campus. Violators will face disciplinary proceedings, and severe penalties may be imposed by the Proctor or Chief Proctor.
Respect and Decency
Students should avoid any form of bullying, derogatory comments, or behavior that causes embarrassment, humiliation, or harm to others. Respect for fellow students, faculty, and staff is a fundamental principle.
General Violations
Other actions that violate the university's Code of Conduct include:
- Failure to properly identify oneself to a
- Lying during an official
- Violations of dress and hair
- Disrespect towards faculty, staff, or
- Disrupting academic environments, such as making noise in halls or sitting in corridors blocking
- Participation in unauthorized demonstrations or possession of prohibited items (e.g., alcohol, weapons, or stolen property).
Safety and Security
Any violations of safety or security, including possession or use of dangerous items, will be dealt with according to university regulations.

COMSATS University Islamabad holds students accountable for their actions. Any serious breaches of conduct may involve police action. Students are expected to behave responsibly, respecting university rules and their peers at all times.
