Library

The Library is subscribing 20,000 on-line journals (through HEC) giving access to Abstracts, TOCs, full text and Document Delivery Services. These journals are available through nine world's renowned Publishers having different databases on Sciences, Technology, Social science and humanities.

The Library at CUI, Sahiwal is spacious, well planned, and offers tranquil environment. It is fast developing into one of the richest information resource center in Sahiwal. The library subscribes to a good number of periodicals and journals, which have educational value for students. In addition, it also offers its users a rich learning environment complemented with electronic information access and services. The library has circulation, reserve and reference section. Internet facilities in the library connect users to libraries around the world for reference, assistance and consultation.

The library is fully equipped with sophisticated audiovisual system. Students are encouraged to make use of the educational material available on videotapes, CDs, DVDs as well as on audiotapes. Students can search for resources using state of the art computerized library catalogue system. A portion of the library has been designated as silence-area, providing students with ideal environment for studies.

Computing Facilities

CUI has sophisticated central instructional computing facilities, which include state-of-the-art computers connected over a network to our labs and offices. Our computing labs contain computer systems which are interconnected via a high-speed, Ethernet network.

They offer a wide array of software including the latest packages for word processing, desktop publishing, and other applications.

Computer Labs

There labs are equipped with Intel Pentium 800 MHz to 2.1 GHz, fully loaded with multimedia and Graphics Hardware. Computing facility provided for faculty, research associates and students possess 1:1 ratio

Biolab

The Laboratory of Biosciences department, offers facilities for contemporary molecular biology research work. The Bio-lab is well equipped to conduct the basic research projects, dealing with environment, plants as well as animals origin. The Laboratory at Biosciences department is ever improving as state of the art molecular biology instruments are being inducted in lab on regular basis. A multimedia and a white-board are available in Bio-lab for delivering lectures during practical sessions. The research projects of graduate students are conducted in Biosciences Laboratory. Two lab attendants are available for the maintenance of equipment’s and students guidance.

Food analysis lab

The food analysis lab at Sahiwal Campus serves as a critical hub for ensuring the safety, quality, and authenticity of our food supply. Utilizing a sophisticated array of techniques, including chemical, microbiological, and molecular analyses, scientists in these laboratories work to detect contaminants like pathogens and verify nutritional content on labels. They also assess the physical properties of food, such as texture and moisture, and screen for adulteration to protect consumers from fraudulent products. By providing essential data that complies with strict regulatory standards, the food analysis lab plays an indispensable role for producers, regulators, and consumers alike, safeguarding public health and fostering trust in the food industry from farm to fork.

Food processing lab

The food processing lab at Sahiwal Campus functions as an innovative pilot plant where food scientists and technologists transform raw agricultural materials into safe, palatable, and shelf-stable consumer products. This dynamic environment is equipped with scaled-down versions of industrial machinery for unit operations such as pasteurization, extrusion, dehydration, and freezing. Here, researchers experiment with new recipes, optimize processing parameters like time and temperature, and develop novel food textures and flavors. The core mission is to bridge the gap between theoretical food science and commercial production, solving practical challenges related to food preservation, quality, safety, and packaging to create the next generation of food products efficiently and sustainably.
