The main objective of this program is to cope with acute shortage of Qualified Faculty in the Universities of Pakistan. HEC has initiated this program. Foreign as well as expatriate Pakistani scientists and engineers may come to Pakistan on short-term assignments on all discipline.

Academic Responsibilities of the Expert:

• Must have to teach at least one credit hour course to MS / PhD students and also provide guidance in their research and academic work.
• Provide assistance in enhancement of research to students as well as faculty members.
• Organize and conduct workshop, Seminars as per expertise of the foreign visiting scholars in cutting edge technologies of the modern world.

Duration of Stay:

Duration of the stay for applicant is for at least one semester (i.e. 3 4½ months) which is extendable to another semester with the consent of HEC and CIIT.

Benefits for the Foreign Professor:

Attractive salary based upon credentials and other professional experience of the scholar (ranges from Rs.100,000/- to 200,000/-) including return air fare and local hospitality will be provided.

How to apply:

• Request is to be made through the Head of the Department and Director of the concerned campus on the HEC prescribed Application Form along with a detailed resume of the scholar.
• Application should be submitted to International Office at least three months prior to the intended arrival of the scholar.
• Application will be received and processed on rolling basis i.e. there is no dead line for the submission of application.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must have PhD degree in the relevant field.
• Applicant must have at least three years post PhD professional / teaching experience in the renowned university / research based organization.
• Must have a good academic and publication record. Special waiver of PhD Degree is for applicants belonging to clinical medical sciences (who hold terminal degreeof MRCP, FRCS (UK) or Diplomat American Board). And also the professionals of Fine Arts, Architecture, Law, Theatre and Arts Discipline.

Terms & Conditions:

• A detail assignment report will be submitted to the International Office upon completion of visit duly signed / endorsed by the Head of the Department and Director of the Concerned Campus for onward submission to HEC.
