COMSATS University Islamabad Explores Academic Horizons with University of Regina in Landmark Online Webinar

Islamabad, December 12, 2025 – In a significant step towards fostering international academic collaboration, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) successfully hosted a comprehensive online webinar titled ‘Graduate Studies and Research Opportunities at the University of Regina, Canada’ on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The event, held in collaboration with the University of Regina (U of R), opened a direct channel for Pakistani students and faculty to explore world-class postgraduate opportunities in Canada.

The one-hour virtual seminar, which commenced at 7:30 PM (PKT), was attended by a diverse audience of aspiring graduate students, researchers, and faculty members from across CUI’s campuses. The presentation detailed the all-encompassing, student-first approach of U of R's FGSR (Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research), highlighting its recognized strengths in mentorship, extensive research options, and dependable support services. A well-planned session offered clear guidance for prospective applicants which covered the following key areas:

  • A comprehensive overview of the University of Regina and its diverse range of Master and PhD programs.
  • Detailed information on cutting-edge research opportunities, funding mechanisms, and the streamlined admissions process.
  • A breakdown of generous scholarships, awards, and comprehensive student support services designed to ensure academic and professional success.
  • An engaging live Q&A session where participants had their specific queries addressed directly by U of R representatives. Further, the UoR representatives also shared email addresses and web links for attendees to direct any follow-up questions about graduate studies and research programs.

This aligns with CUI’s mission to offer students global platforms and strengthen faculty’s international research links.
