A seminar on the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) was held at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Islamabad Campus, on June 10, 2024, at Faculty Block 1. The event involved a meeting with CUI research faculty and students from different departments. Held under the Information Seminars for Higher Studies Abroad initiative, the seminar also included an invited talk on CERN.

The event aimed to discuss CERN-related matters and revitalize the collaboration between CERN and the CUI. The keynote speaker, Dr. Hassan Shahzad, General Manager Technical at the National Center for Physics (NCP), delivered a talk on research collaboration, sustainable financial partnerships, and potential research positions at CERN for CUI students and faculty. Dr. Shahzad also discussed sustainable financial partnerships and the role of CUI faculty in bolstering the collaboration with CERN. He presented financial models to ensure sustainable cooperation and encouraged active participation from CUI's faculty and students.

The event saw active participation from members of the Physics Data Analytics Group, Engineering Group/R&D, and Simulation Group, along with many senior management and faculty members of CUI, Islamabad. The seminar was chaired by the Honorable Rector of COMSATS University Islamabad.
