We are proud to present the 10th thesis of our B. Design program and the 1st Design thesis under the newly formed Department of Art & Design. Our four-year B. Arch program combines an interdisciplinary philosophy with a deep commitment to working with communities and the industry to address the challenges of our world in creative ways. Our program is committed to the teaching of critical thinking and innovative solutions with cultural relevance. The Department of Art & Design is the culmination of 10 years hard work and commitment to excellence in the teaching of art and design. Our faculty is comprised of talented and highly qualified artists and designers who teach as well as work professionally.
The B. Design thesis is the culmination of four years of study which undertakes research and practice in the fields of Visual Arts and Design. The students’ research focuses on investigations of social issues, aesthetic responses in Design to developing solutions that have a strong impact on individuals and society. The priorities of the design thesis are to help students deepen their understanding of issues of society; to engage with communities and produce relevant design solutions. Our graduates are creative individuals who tell our stories and express the truths of our society, they are ready to face the new challenges of a rapidly changing and diverse world and to contribute actively to solving them.
I am proud to be the Dean of this graduating class of 2020 who faced the hardships of working through the Covid-19 pandemic and have produced such fine and inspirational work. I am indebted to my colleagues, Chairperson & HOD Ms. Aisha Imdad, thesis coordinator Ms. Amna Hashmi and all supervising faculty for guiding the students through these trying times and succeeding brilliantly. I congratulate the graduates of 2020, confident in the knowledge that they will contribute to making this world a better place through their humane and futuristic work.
